Home is where it's windy and there are roos everywhere.

Ok, this is the 'home' section. (At least, as close to 'home' as a homeless person living from a backpack can have...) I thought I might run into a few folks interested in what its like where I come from, maybe as some kind of explanation as to how I managed to windup the way I have.... so heres a few snaps of people and places from the wild wild west.

This one is a pic of a kangaroo busted on camera munching away on the grass in front of my parents house in the Perth hills. He looks a bit annoyed, "who put that big house on my favourite patch of grass?'' like.... I used to laugh when visitors from far away places asked "So, do you guys have pet kangaroos in australia?" or similar innocent enquiries. But actually I shouldn't have laughed, 'cause we do! Kind of... they're not very obedient pets though.

This is my mother, enjoying the view from her new pad in the hills. Where are all the roos mum?

Some mates from Perth on Australia day 06 - Happy bunch of chaps aren't they?

My beloved car - An all original 1966 Ford Falcon XP 170 persuit sedan - beautiful isn't she? Alas, the poor old girl has cancer of the sill panels and is a bit lopsided at the moment due to a slipped disc in the under carriage , she's still waiting for me to come home and earn some money to fix her up....

Ok, here's some snaps of my last home in WA - Geradlton (a.k.a Gero). This is my last house, at Point Moore. A very relaxing place to live.....

A typical summer scene at the Point in Geraldton. Lots of wind, lots of kites and no-one on the beach.

A rock solid day at one of my favorite waves... no clues about where this is though. It's usually small and mushy, so I'd go surf somewhere else if I were you... Perth gets good. Really.

Welcome to the blog...

G'day!

Congratulations, you've made it to my blog. I've never done the blog thing before so i hope it works, and that someone reads it.

I thought I'd start with quick overview of my trip to Latin America. Because flights to South America from Oz are really exe, I ended up with a 5 continent round the world super dooper special ticket, which cost less than a return trip to Santiago, and gave me a whole bundle of free flights to places I've never even heard of. So here goes the itinery....

30th December 06
Perth to Santiago, Chile

31st December
Big new years party in Santiago - Should be interesting given my novice spanish, serious jet lag and lack of contacts in this part of the world.

Mid January
Boat trip From Puerto Montt to Punta Arenas, Chile - Thats the south of South America, glaciers, fijords and iceberg country brrr!

21st January
Buenos Aires, Argentina - I might try to learn Spanish or salsa or something here. On the other hand, I hear Argentinian steakhouses claim to be the best in the world..... but then they said the same thing about Maradona didn't they? Now that I think about it, looks like the hand of God has been to a few steak joints - guess I'll find out soon enough though.

20th February
Lima, Peru. For the Inca Trail, bloody big mountains, and fried guinea pig and no doubt other culinary adventures. I've a few months up my sleeve to see Peru, Bolivia and the Amazon basin as well - haha. Could be a busy few months. Oh, did I mention the north east coast of Brazil? Gotta squeeze that in somehow too.

2nd June
Fly from Rio to Panama (via Miami! stupid American Airlines.....) for the start of my central Americal leg... Panama to Mexico in 2 months.

2nd August
Its off to the UK for me. Time to crash on a mates couch..... Ben? Pat? Lee? Andrew? Eric? anyone.....?

Ok, by this stage I'll have run out of do$h so god knows whats gonna happen here - get a job, go home (no!), pimp myself out, rack up a nice credit card debt or somthing - I'm not sure how but I will survive. I've booked a few short jaunts in Europe anyway. So far one week in Amsterdam and Belgium, 1 week in Barcelona, then a week in Rome.

25th August
Home to sunny Perth town via hong kong to work out what to do with the rest of my life and how to pay off that credit card...
